Shur Shod Horseshoeing School recognizes that as old as the skills and techniques involved in horseshoeing are new things can always be learned. That is why we strive to keep up to date on the latest advances and cooperated and participate with other farrier organizations. Our staff are happy to take the lead in using technologies that can be beneficial to farriers and advance the causes of organizations serving and protecting farriers.

The Private Horseshoeing Schools of America

Max Williams, our lead educator, has been named the President of the Private Horseshoeing Schools of America. This organization works to protect the freedom and rights of these leading, high quality private education institutions, to continue to provide the best in farrier education and to protect the rights of students to learn the profession of horseshoeing in a manner that best suits them.

 

Inside Out Diagnostic Imaging

Shur Shod Horseshoeing School has joing with Inside Out Diagnostic Imaging and is now able to use advanced infrared thermographic imaging to provide training and feedback to our students as well as provide medical quality infrared diagnostic imaging for horses.

 

The Brotherhood of Working Farriers

The BWFA is a non-profit organization whose mission is to provide horse owners with professional, intelligent, and accurate information on sound shoeing by professional farriers. They promote certification for farriers and strongly advise horse owners to seek out the services of certified farriers. They are the largest farrier association in the world, with farriers, horse owners, and those interested in the safety of horses, shoeing, research, and farrier science as our members.

The North American Farriers' Academy and Research Center

We have been instrumental in launching this new research center that, thanks to Lawrence Nault and the staff at Steppin' On The Frog will have North American perspective on equine research. We expect to see some exciting projects, studies, and advances come out of the North American Farriers Academy and Research Center in the future.
